A Tarik Kizilisik, MD, a transplant surgeon, is director of the Lutheran Hospital Transplant Center. Dr. Kizilisik has been practicing at Lutheran Hospital since January 2007. He joined Lutheran Medical Group in January 2011 with his group, Indiana/Ohio Heart. Dr. Kizilisik has more than 20 years of transplant experience.

Previously, Dr. Kizilisik was a faculty member and attending transplant surgeon at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He completed two fellowships in liver, kidney and pancreas transplants, one at the University of Alberta in Canada and one at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He also earned a master’s degree in microvascular surgery and an MBA in healthcare administration.

Dr. Kizilisik has published more than 50 manuscripts and has presented more than 100 times on the topics of liver, kidney and pancreas transplants and organ procurement. He is a member of 14 academic societies that represent the fields of science, surgery and transplantation, and he is listed in “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare,” “Who's Who in America” and in the International Biographical Center’s “2,000 Outstanding Scientists of the 21st Century.” Dr. Kizilisik was also named one of America’s top surgeons by a nationwide, nonprofit, independent consumer research organization.
