Emmanuel Okon, MD
Emmanuel Okon, MD, is a physician who specializes in caring for patients who have contracted an infectious disease. Infectious diseases are disorders caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. Dr. Okon helps patients manage these disorders by diagnosing diseases, prescribing medication and providing follow-up care.
Dr. Okon earned his medical degree from the University Of Nigeria College Of Medicine in Enugu, Nigeria. Following his graduation, he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed fellowships in infectious disease at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, and East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Dr. Okon is board certified in infectious disease and internal medicine. He is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
