Allergy / Immunology

Sneezing, watery eyes and an itchy throat. To some people, allergies are just a nuisance—something they live with and suffer through. But to others, allergies, even a bee sting, can be life threatening. Untreated, allergies can have a profound impact on a person's health and on everyday activities, and they can lead to serious conditions, such as asthma, sinusitis or anaphylaxis.

No matter where you fall on the allergy scale, LMG can help. We don't want your life to be controlled by pollen reports and ingredient labels. Our physician, who is board certified in allergies, immunology and internal medicine, can identify what triggers your attacks and help prevent and manage those conditions.

LMG offers an allergy and asthma clinic for adult and pediatric patients and a shot clinic. In the allergy clinic, where a unique treatment plan is developed for each patient, a variety of immunological problems are addressed. These problems, which are the result of the body's inability to fight infection, can manifest themselves into conditions such as recurring pneumonia, difficult-to-treat sinusitis and recurrent skin, blood borne (sepsis), bone and chronic fungal infections.

The following conditions are diagnosed and treated at the LMG allergy clinic:
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Allergic Rhinitis (hay fever)
  • Asthma
  • Atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis or eczema
  • Drug/medication allergies
  • Food allergies
  • Hives, urticaria and angioedema
  • Recurrent infections/immunodeficiencies
  • Sinusitis
  • Stinging insect allergies

The following diagnostic and treatment procedures are offered at LMG:
  • Cluster immunotherapy (rapid build up)
  • Immunotherapy or allergy shots for allergic rhinitis, asthma and bee sting allergies
  • Intravenous/subcutaneous immunoglobulin therapy for immunodeficiencies
  • Monoclonal antibody therapy for moderate to severe asthmatics
