At Lutheran Medical Group, we're not only providing the best treatment options available to patients today, we're also paving the way for even better care tomorrow.
Northern Indiana Research Alliance is Lutheran Medical Group's research division. Since 1993, LMG physicians have enrolled more than 1,500 patients in more than 75 clinical trials. By participating in these FDA-approved trials that carefully test the newest in medical and device therapies, LMG patients have access to alternative treatments that would otherwise be unknown and unavailable to them.
NIRA trials lead to new advancements in medicine, help evaluate the long-term safety and effectiveness of current treatments and lead to improved methods of treating illness and disease. Patients who participate:
- Have access to medical treatments and devices not available outside the study
- Help advance science
- Become a resource to others who will also benefit from the trial's results
Because of the opportunities now available to LMG as a result of its recent partnership with Lutheran Health Network, the alliance plans to expand its outreach efforts and offer clinical research programs in additional inpatient and outpatient facilities within the network. The goal of these trials is to advance medical science and provide cutting-edge treatment opportunities that will have a tremendous impact for community as well as regional residents.NIRA clinical trials have contributed to the study of, and in some cases, approval of new agents for the treatment of:
